FAQ

How would you describe your style?

I like to tailor my shooting style to meet the requests of the client. I try to use a variety of both candid and prompted/posed photos to create a unique combination that best captures the raw emotions and interactions between your family members. When it comes to portrait editing, I love creating rich, warm & bold portraits.

What should we wear for our session?

When you book your session, I will send you a complimentary copy of my style guide for your session. This guide will describe how to coordinate outfits, recommended colors, & colors to avoid. I do also have a client closet that you are welcomed to borrow from. I carry a range of women's dresses (S-XXL) and have a limited supply of children's clothes.

Do we need to bring anything to our photoshoot?

For the most part, you just need to bring yourselves! If you have any sentimental props, you are welcomed to bring them along. Knit and crocheted blankets can also be a wonderful accent to add into your photos. I do also recommend bringing along a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

I always bring along a few essential items with me that we may come in handy during your session to include bobby pins, safety pins, hairspray, etc.

Where should we take our photos?

You have the choice between an in-home or outdoor location for your session. The twin ports has a variety of outdoor locations to choose from. Here is a list of popular places to host your session: Wisconsin Point, Amnicon Falls, Pattison Park, Canal Park/Lakewalk, Enger Tower, Black Beach, Glensheen Mansion Grounds, Park Point, Lester Park, Jay Cooke State Park, & Gooseberry Falls. You are welcomed to choose from the list above, choose a personal location (ex. family cabin), or bring a different location suggestion to me!

Do you have experience working with young children?

As a mother of two toddlers, I can say yes! Frankly, I think my own children make my job as a photographer more difficult than the littles of other people. I have found that building up rapport with the little ones from the very beginning of the session, can be the most crucial step in the process of the family session. I often briefly introduce myself to the adults, and then direct my attention to the young children. I like to get down onto their level and show them my camera equipment to help them feel comfortable.

When is the best time to take maternity photos?

I recommend taking maternity photos as early as 30 weeks and as late as 35 weeks gestation. For twin pregnancies, I suggest scheduling your session between 28 weeks and no later than 32 weeks gestation. I try to host sessions at least a few weeks prior to your due date to avoid the later stages of pregnancy which can be more uncomfortable.

Where can I get a maternity gown for my session?

Camber Lynn Photography offers a complimentary selection of bump-friendly dresses, sizes S-XXL, for clients to borrow for their sessions. These dresses are available for viewing on facebook under the photo album titled, "Client Closet". A few shops I often recommend are Baltic Born, Joyfolie, Petal + Pup, or Ever Pretty. They offer a generous bump friendly collection at a reasonable price. Gowns on the more expensive end can be found at Silk Fairies, Bloom Maternity, WeAreReclamation, FlutterDresses, Sew Trendy or Seila Art Dresses.

When should I schedule my senior portraits?

I primarily offer senior sessions for high school graduates from May- August. Session availability ends in August to ensure senior sessions are delivered in a timely manner to account for yearbook portrait due dates set by the schools. Accommodations for senior portraits outside time frame mentioned above can be arranged upon request.
